The Qatar Veteran’s Cricket League honoured the Legendary cricketer Padmashri Mr. Syed Kirmani by presenting a Memento given by Tournament Chief Co-ordinator Mr. Salim Kaiser in the presence of other Committee Members.

Mr. S.R.Murthy, League Co-ordinator presented another Memento to Mr. Kirmani on behalf of the Cricketers who take part in the Qatar Veteran’s Cricket League.

Qatar Veteran’s League Founder Mr. M.I. Farid who was aware of Mr. Syed Kirmani’s passion for hats presented a hat Memento. Farid said, “Mr.Kirmani, there are rumours that I always LOOGOAN KO TOPI PEHNATA HAON, but I can honestly sat that I have not done so. LAEKIN AAJ MAIN AAPKO TOPI PEHNA UANGAA!”

Considering the cold weather conditions, the hat came in good use for Mr. Kirmani when he was witnessing the Finals of the Kannada Sangha Cricket Final.

Qatar Veterans’ League is a body functioning under the aegis of the Qatar Cricket Association promoting the game of cricket played with soft ball. They conduct four tournaments during the year. All the sponsors are more than happy at the way in which the tournaments are conducted and with the publicity they get. The Qatar Veterans’ League is run by an Organizing Committee comprising of 11 members. Over the years they have formulated, designed and modified the rules and regulations that are meticulously followed in the successful running of the tournaments. The primary objective for an expatriate to be in Qatar is work and playing cricket is a passion after his duty hours. The Veterans’ League provides the avenue to release stress from work and break the monotony in the expatriate’s life. It is a great forum to meet and make friends of different nationalities from all walks of life.

At the Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Kannada Sangha Cricket Final, M.I.Farid was presented with the “Pallonji Gold Medal” by Mr.Syed Kirmani.
